Brendan has over 25 years capital markets experience. He is an innovative leader with the ability to work with and build teams that creatively deliver strategic solutions that reduce organizational costs, improve operational efficiencies, and maximize performance. Brendan has subject matter expertise across operations, technology, and the front office. He is results oriented and has exceptional interpersonal skills. Brendan has supported clients on trade capture, trade flow, triparty, fed reporting, general ledger, transformation, straight-thru processing, systems upgrades, and across all operational processes. Brendan has successfully managed numerous projects with Barclays, HSBC, Merrill Lynch, TD Securities, BNP, and Credit Suisse after leaving Bill Gates Investments as the Director of Operations.

JIM ARVIA MANAGING PARTNER

Jim has over 20 years of leadership experience in Capital Markets areas of operational transformation, merger integration, and middle office / product accounting control functions for all trading products. He is a seasoned project manager and delivery subject matter expert who has advised clients on several banking and broker dealer operational initiatives. He is a skilled communicator with the ability to motivate at every level of an organization. Jim built business and led strategic consulting initiatives focused on operational process transformation, technology implementation, and Broadridge system migration projects in Middle and Back-Office environments. Jim is a trusted advisor to senior executives at some of the world’s top Investment Banks and Broker Dealers. Previously, Jim was a Practice Lead for the Business Operations consulting division of ALaS Consulting (Virtusa Corp) and held numerous roles while supporting the Capital Markets businesses at JPM Chase, BofA – ML, and ABN AMRO.here.

JOAN DOUGLAS PARTNER

Seasoned financial services project manager in all aspects of middle and back office operations, as well as systems implementations/decommissions and business transformation. Have created and successfully implemented multiple project management programs that involved hands on project work as well as senior management reporting. Is invigorated by change, and understands how scary it can be for others; is very creative at gaining cooperation and pushing the agenda forward to reach objectives. Project Management Professional certified, Six Sigma Green Belt, Series 7 and 27 (expired), Scrum Master training, and lots of lessons learned the hard way.

WESLEY ARCHER EXECUTIVE ADVISOR

He was the founding Partner of New York based ALaS Consulting LLC. The company provided professional services to Global Financial Services firms such as JP Morgan, HSBC, BNP Paribas, and others. Wesley founded the firm in 2001 with two other partners and grew the firm into a Software and Consulting Service with over 150 employees, until it’s sale in July of 2011.

PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

Wesley entered the US Navy right after finishing high school in 1989.Having spent 4 years deployed on various ships overseas, including the Persian Gulf War of 1991, he gained experience working in stressful and fast paced environments, which would serve well while working in the financial services sector.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1993, Wesley worked his way through school earning an undergrad Business Degree from Bernard Baruch College majoring in finance.

After graduating in 1998, Wesley joined Arthur Anderson’s consulting group focusing on financial services firms’ operational, regulatory, and accounting processes. With a focus on re-engineering and efficiencies, Wesley became and expert in the business technologies that facilitated straight through processing and cost reductions. This experience would prove invaluable when in September of 2001, Wesley left Arthur Anderson to start his own consulting practice.

Initially focussing on Accounting and Regulatory concerns, ALaS grew quickly into a boutique and highly sought after consulting service. Wesley and his partners grew ALaS's client base from one client in 2001 to over thirty clients by 2005. The business expanded its service offering during this time to operational and risk as well as software designed to streamline balance sheet substantiation. Gross revenue grew from 500k~ in 2002 to over 27 million in 2011. ALaS was named to Inc 500s fastest growing companies for multiple years during this time. Ultimately, in 2011 another professional service firm named Virtusa purchased ALaS in an all cash deal.

Wesley still consults professionally, mentors executives and individuals in the Financial Services sector, and owns and operates a 500 acre farm with over 220 head of Black Angus cattle in Tennessee. (www.archercattleranch.com).

LORNA DEUTSCHER EXECUTIVE ADVISOR

Lorna has over 30 years of experience within the capital markets industry where she excelled in multiple different roles. She began her career as a Senior Auditor with Deloitte, which she then transitioned to Lehman Brothers and climbed to become Vice President in only 5 years with the firm, an unprecedented timeframe for the firm. She then went on to become the Head of Finance, Product Control and Regulatory Reporting Technology at Barclays Capital, where she was responsible for building a team of technology professionals to develop a new suite of technology tools to support anticipated business growth while supporting the legacy systems to be replaced. Lorna also went on to be Head of America’s Operation Technology, Head of America’s Strategic Growth Projects: Technology Director and also Head of Financial Crime Compliance Change Management all with her time at Barclays. Lorna also has a passion for real estate, she works as a realtor for RE/MAX Alliance Group on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
